Project JP 269 (RI-19), "Horizon Scrapers"
As a response to the guidelines set by the competition brief, the author suggested typology applicable on other spatial resources of the city. The longitudinal, horizontal terraces are suggested, as a non-deterministic and adjustable urban structure and spatial nucleus of open process of spatial development. The new terraces connect now interrupted spaces of suburban surroundings, planned botanical garden and wider realm of canyon and Trsat.
Terraces are folded to create open public spaces, and the foldings itself contain public infrastructure. Besides public facilities, the major part of terraces contain residential programme of different typology - apartments, duplexes, triplexes, studios, etc.
This superstructure derived from clear strategy and with solid scheme also relates to the environment. Natural elements are interwoven with terraces and landscape flows into public spaces and into private realm of courtyards, gardens and roof terraces.
Minor criticism could be directed to the level of formalism and poor elaboration on the architectural scale.
